Between June and August 2023, preventive archaeological monitoring was carried out in the area affected by infrastructure works for the new Nippon Gases separation plant (Nippon Gases Operations S.r.l.), in Caserta’s ASI industrial area.

The monitoring was required because the works lay close to the route of the Via Appia and parts of the Bourbon-period Carolino Aqueduct.
