As part of the preventive archaeology associated with the San Nicola Manfredi A photovoltaic installation, developed by Solar Energy 27, ArcheoServizi carried out archaeological investigations between February and November 2023 to assess the area’s archaeological potential.

Excavation focused on the areas of greatest archaeological sensitivity and revealed a significant section of the ancient Appia Claudia, preserved beneath the current ground surface.

In September 2023, the excavation was visited by the delegation assessing the Via Appia’s nomination for the UNESCO World Heritage List, a status achieved in 2024.
